Gate is an island far remote from any continent or other islands. It still lies within country borders so common law is still in play.

Gate’s Resort is the place to be. It is the main building located in the center of the small island and the only place to get a bed to sleep in. Everyone you’ll meet will stay here!
The resort has approximately 100 rooms divided on the building’s three floors.
Here, you will also find accommodations such as a pool, training center and a large party room.
From the resort it is easy to use roads that with a short walk leads you to any shop or restaurant on the island.

Stores around the island make your stay complete. New clothes? We gotcha. Groceries to cook your own meal? Got that too!
Restaurants will serve you the most exsotic food, or the food you know well from home, your choice!

The harbor is where every stay starts or ends. Ships sail to and from the island daily with new resources and guests, so nothing is ever dull here! Guests who choose to leave the island will also say their goodbyes from the docks here.

Technology is part of this “world”. Phones, computers and the internet, all here. However, the island has awful reception, so taking phonecalls, videocalls or even texting can be a hassle, so keep that in mind. The resort do however have their own chat-service that mysteriously works remarkably well.

All kinds of people are allowed on the island. Do you have an old OC you want to bring back from the dead? Maybe a retired DND character? Or an old character you just want to give a break? There are no rules on what kind of character (other than them being humanoid) you bring to Gate Island.

Some people have special abilities, which is perfectly fine too. As long as their ability isn’t a sickly or deadly virus, then it’s probably okay.

Using this site:
Here is where we will have our collection of characters. Add their character sheet under “Characters” and you’re ready to go!
Tip for creating a character: try to write 3 or more sentences to topics such as “personality” and “backstory” for a more fully fleshed character

There is also room for your private chatrooms. Simply enter "Chatrooms" and make a new thread between you(r character) and who you want to chat with and chat away!

Using Discord:
Discord is where we play. There will be chatrooms where you can roleplay to your heart’s content!
Once entering the discord you will be asked to fill out a form for yourself. Basic info about you so you can get ready to meet other roleplayers and play around.

Roleplaying:
You’ve set up your profile and made your first character, what now? It’s time to play! Ask in the discord or privately if someone wants to write with you, come up with a plot or just free-style it. Up to you and your creativity. Once you have yourself a partner, go to a chatroom and start. You start by writing your character’s name and then what they do, say or what’s happening around them.
Example: Marcus: He walked down the street, enjoying the fresh air.

We write in third person past, so keep that in mind.
Speaking: Alice: “Oh, the weather is great today!” she said.
Thinking: Jenn: *I wonder if I should buy apples.* they thought.
(Keep in mind the other character probably can’t read minds.)

It’s a good idea to make a more fleshed out answer, try your best to give something to your partner that they can reply on so the roleplay can keep rolling.
